Austin Shaw Limited Edition Jazz Prints

A new Fine Art Limited Edition series using a form of Hybrid Art that combines both traditional analog methods with cutting-edge digital techniques.
Austin Shaw was born on June 16th, 1976 in New York City. Growing up, Austin studied drawing and photography with his grandfather, Sam Shaw and father, Larry Shaw. He also studied ceramics and sculpture with his mother, Susan Shaw.

Focused on figure drawing and printmaking at New York University as well as studying abroad in Florence, Italy, Austin received his Bachelors Degree of Science in Art. After a stint of teaching drawing and painting at Keith Keller's La Escuela in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, he returned to New York to study Design and Animation at Pratt Institute where he received his Masters Degree.

His artistic career began during internships in New York City, which quickly became freelance projects as he was hired to storyboard music videos and design commercials. Austin has worked professionally as an art director and animator for some of the top design studios in New York City for the last five years and currently teaches motion graphics at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Austin has worked on many Emmy Nominated and Broadcast Design Award winning projects. Some of his clients include Target, AT&T, ABC Sports, Mattel, MTV, VH1, ESPN, HBO, and Ralph Lauren.

Austin is proud to introduce a new Fine Art Limited Edition series, a form of Hybrid Art that combines both traditional analog methods with cutting-edge digital techniques. Mixing media such as painting, drawing, photography and found textures in Photoshop collages, this current series, "Jazz Art" is an example of this technique accompanied by photographs of musicians.

This Limited Edition series will consist of 150 prints of which 50 will be 24x36 inches and 100 will be sized at 20x24 inches. The artist reserves the right to print 5 Artist Proofs and 15 Exhibition Prints making 170 the total number of prints available in this medium. These images are registered with the United States Library of Congress and all rights of reproduction are strictly forbidden without permission from Austin Shaw, who is the artist and sole copyright holder.

Austin Shaw is exclusively represented by The Archives, LLC, digital and printing specialists dedicated to the restoration, printing and preservation of photography and fine art collections. Digital imaging was performed on Macintosh computers then printed on Hewlett Packard's Z3200 Design Jet printer using Realistic Litho 270g archival natural wood-based pulp paper.
