HISTORY

Taking advantage of a more rustic setting, this image was taken in Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon in 1953 and portrays a Marilyn "classic", pedal pushers and all. Sent by Look magazine's editor Fleur Cowles to photograph Monroe for the November Holiday issue, this image exudes self-reliance and strength.
