Marilyn Monroe Peasant Series - P-44Learn More About This Great Item....The Archives collectible prints, books, and calendars are not available from any other source. BENEFITSBring to life your empty walls and create stimulating conversation by bringing home a print from the collection of legendary photographer, Milton H. Greene. Perfect gift for that classic movie enthusiast, Marilyn Monroe fanatic, or art collector. Authenticated by the photographer's son and apprentice, Joshua Greene. HISTORYTaken on the French village set used to film What Price Glory, the combination of costume and set gives Marilyn a wistful peasant appearance. Appropriately referred to as the "Peasant" sitting, this series is one of our favorites. Milton, inspired by the novel, The Brothers Karamazov (for which he'd optioned the film rights), wanted to convince Marilyn of her potential as a dramatic actress, a talent in which he passionately believed. To prove his point, he photographed Marilyn in this costume, worn by Jennifer Jones for her Oscar-winning performance in The Song of Bernadette. This image has only been published once before, in Milton's Marilyn, and has never been exhibited. FEATURESAll printing is done in house with the Hewlett Packard Designjet Z3200 printer with 12-pigmented inks. These prints are scientifically rated to last 200 years!
