Marilyn Monroe Ballerina Sitting - B-4Learn More About This Great Item....All the outfits sent Marilyn Monroe by clothing designer, Ann Klein were 2 sizes too small ... BENEFITSBring to life your empty walls and create stimulating conversation by bringing home a print from the collection of legendary photographer, Milton H. Greene. Perfect gift for that classic movie enthusiast, Marilyn Monroe fanatic, or art collector. Authenticated by the photographer's son and apprentice, Joshua Greene. HISTORYThis photograph of Marilyn Monroe was first published in 1973 and has never been previously exhibited. It is being shown as a part of "Portraits of an Era," produced by The Archives in collaboration with Hewlett Packard. The image from the "Ballerina" sitting, is one of Milton and Marilyn's most recognized collaborations. The photo of Marilyn Monroe was taken in 1954 at Milton's New York City studio when Marilyn arrived for the opening of the "Seven Year Itch." Clothing designer, Ann Klein, sent various outfits to Milton's studio for Marilyn to wear, however all the outfits were 2 sizes too small. All of the poses in this sitting amusingly deal with Marilyn's problem of holding up the ill-fitting toule and satin dress. The most recognized image from this sitting was chosen as one of "Time-Life's" 3 most popular images of the 20th Century along with Albert Einstein (photographer Phillipe Halsman) and Winston Churchill (photographer Yousuf Karsh). This newly restored image was published for the first time in the May-June 2001 issue of "American Photo." FEATURESAll printing is done in house with the Hewlett Packard Designjet Z3200 printer with 12-pigmented inks. These prints are scientifically rated to last 200 years!
