Up until the Revolution of 1959, Cuba was the world's largest importer of American cars. After the revolution, a U.S. embargo halted the import of new vehicles and parts to the island. Known the world-over for their mechanical ingenuity and imagination, the owners have kept these classic cars running and have made them as much a part of the Cuban culture as cigars.
